“Metamanatee” is inspired by the endangered West Indian manatee, in hoping to bring attention to their dwindling numbers as a result of declining water quality, over-development and maritime traffic. I see them as more than just data points in an ecosystem, but as majestic symbols of peace and delicate balance.
